Montrose

A Classic Center Hall Colonial where the longstanding tradition of Sunday dinner with generations of family lives on. As the children have grown they enjoy coming home and sometimes bring a welcomed friend or two. The Dining Room was no longer big enough to accommodate this time-honored ritual of sitting around one table and enjoying a home cooked meal. The homeowners contacted Clawson Architects to help them combine the Front Parlor and Dining Room together. This required relocating structural, mechanical and plumbing systems inside new decorative pilasters and introducing a beamed ceiling. Clawson Architects recommended hanging several lighting fixtures, keeping them close to the ceiling and purchasing four pedestal tables, two of which also have extension leaves to give the homeowners the flexibility for alternative gatherings such as a cocktail party, a more intimate dinner party or a buffet setting.
