A Mid Century modern home in the style often associated with Eichler, a California Builder. This house stands tall on the crest of a hill overlooking the Manhattan skyline. The home was built in the 1960's and featured in national magazines of the time. When a large tree fell during a violent storm going through the roof, crushing the main beam and the large single pane glass window Clawson Architects, experts in period detailing were called on to restore the home to its original glory. Three new beam were milled from a single tree in the Pacific North West and new custom windows that meet today's energy codes were created to restore this gem and the views of the city.

A new look was given to the stair. Custom stainless steel railings were designed with stainless cables. The original beams that were damaged in the storm were repurposed as stair treads. A new custom door with frosted side lites was also added to update the home while maintaining the authentic modern detailing of the original design. New bluestone tiles in a honed finish were used in the foyer and kitchen while new hardwood floors were installed throughout the other areas of the main living spaces in the home.
