In this new pandemic world, we are learning a lot about people. The hoarding toilet paper is the latest obsession.

One thing that every bathroom renovation project I did in the early 90’s had was a bidet. In last 20 years we have occasionally been asked to include one.

However, while not new to the market either, washlets or bidet seats that can be retrofitted to your current toilet are gaining in popularity.

This product installs/can be fitted on most basic toilets. If you are currently designing or renovating your bathroom be certain to include accommodations for electrical near the toilet…the heated water, seat and dryer are features that are very nice to have. There are seats that do not require electricity, they just won’t have that extra warmth.

While these might have sounded or maybe just seemed a little “extra” or a bit fancy in the past, the pandemic has us all seeing the glory of such products now.

There are several washlet seats on the market. each has the basic features. A few to consider are the air deodorizer feature and the option for settings for two users. One limitation on many is the ability to sit on the toilet lid when closed. So if that is important to you, choose carefully.
