Pandemic Podcasts 1

We are living in a time of uncertainty, of change, and in need of adaptation to the new life we are going to live as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pandemic has not been easy and is lasting much longer than any of us ever expected. Never have our homes had to work so hard for us. The silver lining for me is two fold:

  1. I was given unexpected time with our college freshman, Bernadette. Her fresh perspective on things lead to some really great conversations about everything to what is happening in the world today, to what we took for granted in our pre pandemic lives, to how people get information today. She also got us to relax and “binge watch” tv shows we never would have considered, have dance parties and cookoffs.

  2. I was able to truly enjoy the home we renovated two years ago and reflect on the design choices we made and how challenging this would have been if we had not renovated or the kids were all still young and at home.

This lead to my daughter insistence/encouragement to start Clawson Architects original podcast, that hopefully gives our listeners the insight they need into creating the home they need in this troubling time with confidence.

So, with help from our new Podcast Director, Bernadette Clawson, the podcast From The Drawing Board was created. We hope you give it a listen on Spotify or SoundCloud and check back for giveaways and other information about our design process.

We begin with a short series, this season we explored appliances, home office and learning spaces as well as cabinetry, in the hopes of understanding the process of home design through my experience as Owner of Clawson Architects and Clawson Cabinets and my over 30 years of experience as a licensed architect and interior designer.

We hope you enjoyed our first episode of From The Drawing Board where we discussed appliances! If you are interested in learning more about the products we discussed, we encourage you to visit Ferguson Bath, Kitchen & Lighting Gallery—Formerly Karl’s Appliances or an Appliance store near you. An appointment with knowledgeable associates to guide you and help you understand what options are best for you and your home design is advised. You can read anything you want to online, an experienced sales associates at a reputable appliance store will be able to tell you about the service and repair calls they get which would be much more informative when considering your purchase.
