Layla Danelle Neira is a full-time Architectural Designer at Clawson Architects, a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) with a Bachelor of Architecture. Her academic work and leadership as Vice President of NJIT’s American Institute of Architects Student Chapter reflect her commitment to thoughtful, collaborative design.
Prior to joining Clawson Architects full time, Layla was awarded a scholarship to attend the Summer Studio in Classical Architecture through the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) in New York City. There, she received advanced training in classical architectural design, including proportion, composition, traditional urbanism, and precedent-based design. She earned the ICAA’s Certificate in Classical Architecture upon completion.
Layla’s design talents were recognized when she received 1st Place in the 2024 AIA Newark and Suburban Chapter Design Awards for Student Design Excellence. Her work blends artistic sensitivity with architectural discipline, informed by her travels and passion for art, history, and storytelling through the built environment.
She brings this perspective to Clawson Architects, where she is excited to contribute to the firm’s process of creating timeless, contextually rich architecture. Layla continues to explore the relationship between design and place while expanding her professional skills in residential and urban architecture.
